People often get Marketing and Sales confused. There has been a lot written about this and so there is much confusion but let me give you my understanding.
Marketing is letting everyone know about your product and creating a demand.
Sales is when the prospect walks in the door and wants to buy your product and a sales person helps him get what he needs. If marketing is done correctly, then sales becomes very easy. Famous artists don’t have to do much marketing because there is already a demand for their art. A new artist needs to do some very clever marketing and create a demand. Trying to sell something without marketing first creating a demand is very difficult.
So what can you do to create a demand for your art?
Here are 2 things:
1 Learn to draw. If you create very good art it will be in demand. So developing your skills to a very high level is the best place to start with marketing. Doing the drills in this book will help you become an amazing artist. Click Here
2 Social Media. On another page of this website there is some information on how to make some quick money using Social Media. This is an online course on marketing with social media that can be used to make some quick cash as you study it, and can also be used to teach you how to market your art. There are many ways to learn these skills but this program is especially good because there is a community of staff and students who help each other learn and apply these skills quickly. Using social media is a really good way to create a demand… if you know how.
