Confidence is nice but not important. When starting a new venture, one is never sure if it will work out or not. Confidence comes after you have done something several times and you know how to do it and your are confident. When you first start you most likely don’t have confidence. So that is a terrible excuse to not start something…. no confidence. Of course you don’t have confidence…YET. But push on doing what you can do and practicing every day and good things will start to happen. There is something about committing yourself to a project that seems to bring about good luck.
Just practice everyday and don’t so much worry if you produce excellent results or not. The excellent results will come after you practice and practice. It may take years to be really, really good but that is how it works.
So the question is, “When to start?” Well, Today is a good time.
What to start? Well I recommend the drills in this book. They will not only improve your drawing skills they will improve your whole artistic consciousness. You will not know what I am talking about until you do the drills every day for at least 30 mins for 2 weeks. Then you will start feeling like a real artist. You will start to feel confident.
